BEOWULF : Designed to be the ultimate TAC/UTILITY tool. Generous handle size.

Lil' BEOWULF : Designed with an identically sized front tanto shovel, this funky younger brother shares the dimensions of the "BEOWULF", its just shorter (not a scale down). Larger eyehole and more of a canted handle to lock in the grip.

BLADE LENGTH: Large Beowulf is 4.15 (OAL 9.5" )

Lil' Beowulf is 3.625" (OAL 8.4")

BLADE THICKNESS : 200" thick with a 14-in front hollow and a 10-in back hollow. High performance but Stout. Handles are .160 thick

Art is Function

The soul of a knife is the hand ground blade. It's the maker's unique signature.

I like tactile blades, with complex grinds. Blades that are designed to have useful edge geometries, and capable of hybrid roles.

I strive for fully featured designs, with an elegant and ergonomic flow. I feel that ergonomics is the final frontier of hand tool design.

My knives are designed for the human hand: To be comfortable while doing hard tasks and to have a safe and secure grip grip, always.

To me, art is function.

THE GOAL: To make a true companion "tool knife", that would be handmade with exacting precision, using traditional knife making techniques. It's thoroughly tested, as well as being easy and safe to use and comfortable to carry.

TESTING: All my knives are built first and foremost as tool knives. All knives are heated with a cryo and double temper . I also do multiple Rockwell hardness tests with a calibrated "diamond penetrator" on each blade + "Fowler" edge testing . I build my knives to withstand hard use for normal knife operation. Each knife is tuned carefully for positive blade retention and flipper+manual spidey flick action.

Currently, I am integrating "Jumbo Eyeholes" in to my designs, and installing and tuning "Hybrid Detents", to give the ability to manually open the blade using the thumb.

Building a Custom Knife

STANDARD OPTIONS

STANDARD OPTIONS INCLUDED in the BASE PRICE: I give the customer many STANDARD options, to build a unique knife . Many of these "STANDARD" options used to be "UPGRADES":

CHOPP HYPERGRIND (all models)

Mirrored “CHOPP HYPERGRIND”: 14” and 10” Hollow mirror compound grinds. Stouter in the front, finer in the back.

GREAT at power chiseling, and the draw cut. The front 14" shovel is great for accurate wood shavings, and the back 10" is high wood material removal.

The blade is ground to have a "DIAMOND REINFORCED" tip. The large hollow grinds allow the blade to keep its fine edge geometry, while not sacrificing strength.

BLADE FINISHES

JUMBO LBS (all models)

⅝ 3D milled LBS coin with Radial propeller pattern (commemorating my grandfather WWII Army Sgt “ Manny Chopp”, setting up airfields in enemy territory for P-38 Lightnings).

BLADE SHAPES (3 options)

BLADE can be be modded to a "BOWIE" clip point as well as be made "flipperless" with a flush flipper tang .

BLADE FINISHES (3 options)

Mirror/Satin - Mirrored and then tumbled overnight with a fine porcelain media. This is followed by a brief vibratory tumble to obtain a uniform satin scratch pattern. The blade will still look like a mirror at most angles.

2. Mirror/Stonewash - Mirrored and then tumbled briefly with a vibratory tumbler making a speckled pattern. Has that “Black Mirror Effect” with a speckled scratch pattern.

3.“Cobalt Finish” - Scratch resistant with a light grey uniform color. (Deep peening process, which gives a two-tone effect).

3D MILLING/MICARTA INLAY on the SHOWSIDE SCALE ( 6 Options)

COMPLEX 3D MILLING : 3D Milled channels (3 different patterns) for better "thumb-grip". Comes with a Rear Micarta Scale.
* Option available for no milling, and 2 showside micarta inlays.

INTEGRALLY MILLED MICARTA INLAY: Milled out on the DECKEL GK21 pantograph and Bridgeport Mill. I use a very high PSI, shock resistant bonding with a tight press fit. Very durable, and permanently bonded. Finally no more screws!

Handle Ano Color/ Finish

BRIGHT Ano Finish: scratch resistant, micro peen finish.
Ano colors are bright and have luster.

MATTE Ano Finish: Ano colors are darker with this finish.

Note: All finishes have a light orange-peel texture before blasting, then are stone washed and re-anodized a complimentary color. This adds further "scratch resistance". Bright finishes are more scratch resistant, with silver finishes, (non ano'd), being the MOST scratch resistant.

(G) STAINLESS DAMASTEEL DAMASCUS BLADE.

Forging RWL 34 ( same composition as CPM 154 CM) and PMC27 (similar to AEB-L) , making a really tough, razor sharp, workhorse blade, that is much more scratch resistant than classic Dark Damascus blades (AEB-L/ Nickel). PRICE: TBD
Difficult to source because of the .200” thick blades I make. Depending on availability, may have DAMASTEEL DAMASCUS from Sweden.

I currently have the "LOKI" DAMASTEEL PATTERN.

Great for folding knives, this pattern will show a beautiful undulating circular pattern in the heavy blade milling in the "Beowulf" blades: Large "fuller " and eye hole chamfers, as well as on the "Hyper Grind " bevels.

A 50% deposit is required to secure your spot in the batch.
The remainder 50% is due at the final stages of completion ( Locked and Ground).
Once your deposit is received, you will be given a password to the "Order Form" to design your custom knife.

MAINTENANCE AND WARRANTY

MAINTENANCE

Lock up is not affected by excess oil.

Also, disassembly is not usually required for clean up when debris gets into the blade's "stop pin channel". Most debris can be cleared up with an in-line compressed air blast or, bottled keyboard blast.

Pivots and screws secured by Blue Loctite. Please contact me if you have issues with the pivot. Make sure the blade has a piece of paper in between it and the titanium scale to prevent scratching.

The 2- 56 screws are hardened stainless steel and fit best with "Wiha" Torx drivers.

NOTE : FROM 2025 AND ON I WILL BE USING 4-40 SCREWS THAT USE A T8 DRIVER.

WARRANTY

Warranty covers malfunctions of the knife under normal use of a precision tool. Normal wear and tear, or if I find the knife has been abused or damaged (ie: fell on concrete and the tip chipped), are not covered under the warranty process. Simply put: If it's my fault, I'll make it right.

The warranty will be voided if the knife is customized by a 3rd party ("Pimped").
